Helsinki is the largest and Capital city of Finland. The city has remarkable old buildings and churches and is uniquely and pleasantly without any skyscrapers. It's South Harbor area is austere and serene in January but certainly not void of life.
To the right are three concepts for a painting of Helsinki. The key elements I wanted to capture were one or two of the ferries to Stockholm, the trolley, pedestrian and auto traffic, the Helsinki Cathedral, and the Uspenski Cathedral.
