St. Petersburg's grand Anichkov Bridge.
The Anichkov Bridge was the first and most famous bridge across the Fontanka River. The bridge includes four sculptures at each corner called the Horse Tamers. Each sculpture includes a man trying to tame a wild rebellious horse.
So why is it nicknamed the bridge of Eighteen Balls when there are four horses and four men? Because in the past the bridge was always guarded by a policeman to deter vandalism and graffiti...hence the total sum of, you guessed it, eighteen balls ;)
