Damen Station was my connection to downtown and O’Hare when I visited my sister living in the Bucktown in the late 90’s. While waiting for the Blue Line one beautiful day summer day I noticed the station had incredible character and a unique view of the Sears Tower.
The Station serves the popular and growing Bucktown and Wicker Park neighborhoods of Chicago.
Of note: Apparently I’m not the only one who took notice of the view. A photorealistic artist, Bert Monroy, created a nice digital image of a similar view from the station.
I take a few liberties in my paintings but I found it interesting since he decreased the distance from the station to downtown.
